Frequently Asked Questions
Are There Any Taxes Or Import Duties On Jewelry?
In many instances, yes. We recommend contacting your local customs office to inquire about any import duties or Value Added Taxes on jewelry shipped to your country. These are the responsibility of the purchaser. If you live in Texas, we have to charge 8.25% sales tax.
Do You Have Pictures Of Finished Rings?
We are horrible photographers and jewelry can be very difficult to capture. When the piece has had something done to it that isn’t shown in the CAD rendering, like engraving, we will usually include a finished image. If there is a ring you would like to see a finished image of and can’t find it, contact us and will see if we have one.
Do You Provide Gift or Jewelry Boxes?
Depending on the piece, we pack all of our pieces in jewelry boxes made of solid wood, velvet, or genuine leather. An outer “gift” box is included to protect the jewelry box as well.
Where and How Do You Ship Custom Jewelry?
We currently ship to 50+ countries worldwide. There are a handful of countries we don’t ship to, either due to restrictions from our shipping providers or customs regulations. To see if your country qualifies, start a consultation and ask us! We ship all of our jewelry with signature confirmation and insurance.
Note that all pricing is displayed in US dollars, and additional shipping charges may apply.
Where are You Based and Who Manufactures Your Custom Jewelry?
We are based in Dallas, TX and all of your jewelry is manufactured in US.
Is Custom Jewelry More Expensive?
At Valeria Custom Jewelry, we think that getting something custom made should should be available to everyone. While all of our jewelry is custom designed and crafted to exceptionally high standards, we’re able to keep our costs much lower than traditional jewelers who do custom work – not by cutting corners or settling for lower quality, but by finding better ways to do things.
Keeping our costs low means we’re able to produce quality custom jewelry for prices that are comparable to what you’d pay for similar quality pieces off the shelf. If you’re purchasing a piece of jewelry that you want to last a lifetime (like an engagement ring or wedding band, for instance), then we offer the opportunity to have something made just for you for roughly the cost of something that’s been mass-produced. And many times, our prices can cost less for labor and material intensive pieces.
However, custom designing and making every piece to order and at such high quality means we can’t offer jewelry at the prices of of the lower end fashion brands of the jewelry coming from Asia.

How Is Your Custom Jewelry Designed?
We have an in-house master jewelry designer and 3D artist, as well as a team of expert design consultants. When you start a consultation with us, our design consultants will help you flesh out the details of your design, weigh various options, and price the piece for you.
Once we have all the information we need, work will begin with our team of artists to produce CAD renderings of your piece based on the information you’ve given us. Once an initial design is presented, you will have the chance to have any changes that you want made. We will make those changes and then will keep designing until you’re happy.
How Long Will My Custom Piece Take?
Typically, your custom piece will be in your hands in as little as 2 weeks, but could take up to 5 weeks depending on the ring and what it needs. However, because each piece is different, the time it takes to complete your project may vary. Usually the entire process take about a month and here is a breakdown of the process.
Design: When it comes to creating your design, we work at your pace. Some customers only need to exchange a few messages with us – we’ll often be ready to make their piece within a few days. Others may prefer to design and iterate with us over many weeks, or even months. It is up to you and what you want requires.
Production: Approximately 1-3 weeks: a plain band will take a lot longer than a pendant with 100 stones in it. Once you’ve approved a design, we’ll manufacture your piece, completing the final stages of the process. When it’s ready, we’ll send you photographs of it so you can give us your seal of approval before we ship it or have you pick it up.
