Our Unique Halo Engagement Rings

Unique Halo Engagement Rings

The halo engagement ring first appeared in the 20s, when the style known as Art Deco rose to prominence.  They were all the rage for awhile and then their popularity waned.  Their current return to fashion has propelled halo rings into second place behind the classic solitaire as the most popular engagement ring style. Halo rings can be almost considered as classic as the solitaire, but our Unique Halo Engagement Rings come with a twist!

The halo ring style offers a wide variety of options for creating big diamond looks with smaller center stones, as well as ways to personalize and customize your engagement ring.  A halo ring is a setting that encircles a larger, center gemstone in a row of round gemstones. These prong and sometimes bezel set stones flash with light and focus the attention of the viewer back to the center stone, drawing people’s eyes to your ring. A larger center diamond can look enormous in a halo setting. But  1/2 or even 1.3 carat diamonds can look, by some estimates, as much as a half a carat larger when set in a halo. So no matter what your budget, a halo engagement ring will give you a bigger bang for your buck.

This Celtic Inspired Engagement ring starts with the center stone and halo.  But what makes this ring special is the diamond accented triquetras on the shoulders of the ring.  That is a design element you won’t see in the mall!

What is a Halo Engagement Ring?

The typical halo rings is one with a big stone supported on a narrow, stoneless band. Imagine a round diamond circled by smaller stones on a white gold or platinum ring. “White on white on white” can impart a stunning statement that we just love. This look also works well when used with a princess- or cushion cut center stone.  There’s a lot to think about when you’re looking for a halo engagement ring. But if you can’t find EXACTLY what you’re looking for, remember that we can build your engagement ring from the ground up.

This Art Deco Halo Engagement Ring isn’t your typical halo.  It is inset into a v shape from the side view, but looking from the top, it appears to be a standard halo. The stones in the halo as well as beneath the center stone are bezel set, defining each stone.  The band is elegantly adorned with floral scrollwork with some milgrain thrown in for good measure.

When Did Halo Engagement Rings First Appear

Halo engagement rings first appeared in the early 18th century. They are credited to a jeweler named Jean-Baptiste Tavernier, who was known for his exquisite designs. Tavernier’s innovative use of smaller diamonds surrounding a larger center stone created a stunning halo effect, which quickly gained popularity among the elite. This style of engagement ring continues to be a timeless and romantic choice for couples today.

In our opinion, Tavernier’s invention of the halo engagement ring was a stroke of genius. The halo setting not only enhances the beauty of the center stone, but also adds an extra sparkle and brilliance to the overall design. It’s no wonder that this style has stood the test of time and remains a popular choice for engagement rings.

Whether you’re a fan of vintage-inspired designs or prefer a more modern look, the halo engagement ring offers a versatile and elegant option. Its timeless appeal and ability to showcase the center stone make it a classic choice that will never go out of style.

Types Of Halo Engagement Rings

When it comes to Halo Engagement Rings, there are several types to choose from. The classic Halo ring features a center diamond surrounded by a halo of smaller diamonds, creating a stunning and sparkling effect. This style is timeless and elegant, perfect for those who appreciate traditional beauty. For a more unique and modern look, the Double Halo ring is a great option. It features two halos of diamonds around the center stone, adding extra sparkle and dimension. Lastly, the Vintage Halo ring is perfect for those who love antique-inspired designs. It features intricate detailing and a halo of diamonds that gives it a vintage charm. Overall, no matter which type of Halo Engagement Ring you choose, you can’t go wrong. They are all beautiful and will make a statement on your finger.

Will Halo Engagement Rings Work With A Matching Wedding Ring?

Halo engagement rings are a popular choice for many couples due to their stunning design and ability to enhance the center stone. But will they work with a matching wedding ring? The answer is yes! The halo setting allows for endless possibilities when it comes to pairing it with a wedding band. Whether you prefer a simple, classic band or a more intricate design, there are plenty of options to complement your halo engagement ring.

One option is to choose a wedding band that features a similar halo design. This creates a cohesive look and adds to the overall sparkle and brilliance of the ring set. Another option is to opt for a plain band that allows the halo engagement ring to take center stage. This minimalist approach creates a beautiful contrast and allows the halo ring to truly shine.

If you’re looking for something unique, consider a curved wedding band that wraps around the halo engagement ring. This creates a stunning and unconventional look that is sure to turn heads. Additionally, you can also choose a wedding band with pave diamonds or gemstones that match the accent stones in the halo setting.

Why Halo Engagement Rings Are So Popular

Halo engagement rings have become incredibly popular in recent years. Their unique design features a central diamond or gemstone surrounded by a halo of smaller diamonds, creating a stunning and eye-catching effect. This style has captured the hearts of many soon-to-be brides, and it’s not hard to see why.

One of the main reasons why halo engagement rings have gained such popularity is their ability to make the center stone appear larger. The halo of smaller diamonds creates an optical illusion, making the main diamond or gemstone appear bigger and more dazzling. This is a major draw for couples who want a ring that really stands out and makes a statement.

Another factor contributing to the popularity of halo engagement rings is their versatility. The halo design can be customized to suit different tastes and preferences. Whether you prefer a classic round halo or a more unique shape, like a cushion or pear, there are endless options to choose from. This allows couples to find a ring that perfectly reflects their individual style and personality.

In addition to their visual appeal, halo engagement rings also offer practical benefits. The halo of smaller diamonds provides extra protection to the center stone, helping to prevent chips and scratches. This is especially important for those with an active lifestyle or who work with their hands. The added security and durability of a halo setting make it a practical choice for everyday wear.

Celebrities Who Wear Halo Engagement Rings

When it comes to engagement rings, celebrities are known for their extravagant tastes. One popular style among the Hollywood elite is the halo engagement ring. These rings feature a central diamond surrounded by a halo of smaller diamonds, creating a stunning and eye-catching effect. Celebrities such as Beyoncé, Jennifer Aniston, and Kate Middleton have all been spotted wearing halo engagement rings, solidifying their status as trendsetters. Not only do these rings make a bold statement, but they also add extra sparkle and brilliance to any hand. If you’re looking to add a touch of celebrity glamour to your own engagement ring, consider opting for a halo design.

One of the reasons why halo engagement rings have become so popular among celebrities is their ability to enhance the size and brilliance of the center diamond. The halo of smaller diamonds surrounding the main stone creates an illusion of a larger diamond, making it appear more impressive and extravagant. This is especially appealing to celebrities who are constantly in the spotlight and want to make a statement with their engagement rings.

Another reason why celebrities love halo engagement rings is their versatility. These rings can be customized to suit any style or preference. Whether you prefer a classic round diamond or a unique pear-shaped stone, the halo design can be adapted to accommodate any shape or size. This allows celebrities to express their individuality and personal style through their engagement rings.
